As districts’ needs for technology services have evolved, so have MCOE’s strategies for meeting those needs.
Information Services
Information Services and Business Services work together to provide business data processing to most Marin County public school districts. The services provided include payroll, finance and fiscal inventory. Information Services also hosts a computerized student information system for a number of districts in the county to facilitate student attendance, class scheduling and grade reporting.
Information Services operates the countywide electronic mail system, Internet services, Help Desk, and the internal MCOE local area network. It also manages a wide area network consisting of ATT telecommunications services and associated equipment.
Educational Technology Services (ETS)
The goal of the Educational Technology Services program is to support districts and MCOE’s programs to use technology to enhance instruction and student learning. The following websites provide more information about how DataDirector, educational technology workshops for teachers and administrators, and local CTAP services (including technology plan support) provide technology resources for learning and teaching.
